Colt Emerson will have season-ending surgery on his left wrist, ending a difficult 2026 debut in which he posted a .190/.246/.335 line with a 34.4% strikeout rate in 69 games. The injury had been affecting him since April, when he received a cortisone injection in the minors. He was placed on the 10-day IL on August 14 and can be transferred to the 60-day IL when Seattle needs the roster spot. He is expected to be healthy by next spring training.
