He surrendered eight runs on August 17th and four more runs just the day before the move, throwing 65 pitches in the latter outing. Littell had signed with Arizona on a minor-league deal after being released by Washington, with the Nationals still responsible for most of his guaranteed money. He has enough service time to reject an outright assignment and could elect free agency.
