Thorpe, 25, missed significant time after a flexor strain led to bone spur removal surgery in 2024, followed by a torn UCL requiring Tommy John surgery in 2025. He has pitched well across four minor league affiliates in his 2026 rehab, posting a 2.70 ERA with a 24.8% strikeout rate over 36.2 innings. His activation brings the White Sox 40-man roster to capacity.
