Fried Targeting Aug. 29 Return After Elbow Bone Bruise
Yankees ace Max Fried is progressing through throwing sessions and could return at the IL minimum after being sidelined with a left elbow bone bruise.

Max Fried was placed on the 15-day IL retroactive to Aug. 14 with a bone bruise in his left elbow. He threw a side session Thursday and is scheduled for another Saturday, which could lead to live batting practice. Manager Aaron Boone indicated a return as early as Aug. 29 remains possible. Fried has posted a 2.81 ERA in 86.1 innings this season despite missing significant time with the same injury earlier in the year.
