The Pittsburgh Pirates designated Camilo Doval for assignment and the San Francisco Giants claimed him on waivers earlier this week. Doval was originally a Giants closer before being traded to the Yankees at last year's deadline, then to Pittsburgh at this year's deadline. He is under team control through 2027 at roughly $6MM this season. Doval made an immediate impact, striking out the side against the Dodgers on Saturday while touching 99 mph.
