Mariners Claim Michael Toglia Off Waivers from Reds
Seattle adds the switch-hitting first baseman/outfielder, who missed most of 2026 recovering from shoulder surgery.
The Seattle Mariners claimed 1B/OF Michael Toglia off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds to open the offseason. Toglia, 28, played only 10 games in 2026 after suffering a dislocated right shoulder and undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum. A former first-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2019, Toglia carries a .198/.275/.384 career line with 42 home runs across 1,095 plate appearances. Seattle may be betting on a change of scenery and park environment to unlock more from the athletic switch-hitter.
