The Mets officially selected the contract of right-hander Chris Devenski, who signed a minor league deal with the club earlier this month after being released by Pittsburgh. Devenski posted a 1.13 ERA with a 34.4% strikeout rate across 24 minor league innings. The move was prompted in part by Xzavion Curry throwing 46 pitches in relief the previous night, leaving him unavailable. Devenski has over five years of MLB service time and cannot be optioned without his consent.
