Mets Claim Paris, DFA Pache
New York acquired toolsy infielder/outfielder Kyren Paris via waiver claim from Los Angeles and designated outfielder Cristian Pache for assignment.
The Mets claimed 24-year-old Kyren Paris off waivers from the Angels. Paris is a former second-round pick with speed and raw power but has struggled with strikeouts in the majors, posting a .147/.238/.272 slash line over 263 career plate appearances. The Mets simultaneously designated outfielder Cristian Pache for assignment. Both players are out of minor league options and will need to clear waivers or be placed on the roster before Opening Day.
