Nolan McLean made five starts in August, throwing 30 innings with a 2.10 ERA and 24 strikeouts. His walk rate ticked up and strikeout rate dipped slightly compared to prior months, but results remained well above average. Over 27 starts on the season, McLean owns a 3.06 ERA with 172 strikeouts in 155.2 innings. His sustained performance places him among the top NL Rookie of the Year contenders.
