Oneil Cruz Activated from IL but Sits Out Monday vs. Tigers
Pittsburgh reinstates Cruz after he fractured his hand on June 6, but the CF is not in the starting lineup for the Pirates' homestand opener.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are activating Oneil Cruz from the injured list following a hand injury sustained June 6 when he fractured two bones sliding into home plate. Cruz has been out since then, aside from a pinch-running appearance on June 7. He completed six minor-league rehab games but struggled, hitting just .136 with seven strikeouts in 22 at-bats. Despite the activation, Cruz is not in the starting lineup Monday as Pittsburgh faces left-hander Framber Valdez and the Detroit Tigers.
