Phillies Offense Surges in August After Sluggish First Half
Philadelphia has transformed from one of MLB's worst offenses through July into one of its best in August across nearly every major category.

The Phillies ranked 30th in on-base percentage and 23rd in OPS through July 31, scoring just 4.34 runs per game. Since August began, they rank 1st in OBP (.362), 6th in OPS (.777), and are tied for 5th in runs per game at 5.40. Their batting average climbed from .236 (24th) to .264 (4th). The turnaround represents one of the more significant month-over-month offensive improvements in MLB this season.
