The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired right-hander Lake Bachar from the Miami Marlins in a trade earlier in August 2026. Bachar has made five appearances for Pittsburgh since joining the club. He has been used in a hybrid starter/opener role, including a three-inning outing in an 8-3 win over Boston on August 16. He is slated to start Sunday's series finale against the Dodgers in another bullpen-game capacity.
