Rafael Devers placed on IL with season-ending core muscle injury; Scott Bandura called up

Rafael Devers' first full season in San Francisco is over. The Giants announced Sunday, ahead of their series finale against the San Diego Padres, that their star third baseman has been placed on the injured list with a core muscle injury the club described as season-ending. Per the announcement, Devers has been managing the injury for most of the season and will meet with a specialist.
