The Reds officially designated right-hander Ron Marinaccio for assignment on Monday. Marinaccio posted a 3.72 ERA through late June but was shelled for 23 runs over his final 19 innings, pushing his season ERA to 6.09. He has no minor league options, meaning any claiming team must roster him immediately. Cincinnati simultaneously selected lefty Kent Emanuel from Triple-A Louisville to fill the bullpen spot.
