Rengifo Knee Sprain Clouds Padres Outfield Depth
The Padres utility man buckled his right knee on a seventh-inning throw and was carted off; an IL stint appears likely for San Diego.

Luis Rengifo suffered a right knee sprain during Saturday's game against the Rays when his knee buckled on a throw from the infield. He was removed from the field on a cart and will travel to San Diego for further evaluation. Manager Craig Stammen indicated the injury does not look good. The Padres, already missing Ramón Laureano, Miguel Andujar, and Samad Taylor, may be forced to place Rengifo on the injured list during a tight Wild Card race.
