Sal Frelick Activated by Brewers Despite Torn Labrum

Sal Frelick is back on the Brewers' active roster — torn labrum and all — per the club's announcement.

The labrum situation is the part worth watching. Frelick isn't returning because the injury has resolved; he's returning while it persists, which means the health and performance risk travels with him onto the field every day. Milwaukee's outfield picture has had some turbulence nearby: Garrett Mitchell exited the Little League Classic after being hit by a pitch and left with a bruised forearm, with his status still unclear at that point. Frelick's availability matters in that context, even if the two situations are otherwise unrelated.
