Tigers Prospect Ben Jacobs Trending Up After Mechanical Overhaul
The 22-year-old southpaw has posted 33 strikeouts over his last five starts and earned a FV bump from Detroit's development staff.

Ben Jacobs, a 2024 third-round pick out of Arizona State, has struck out 33 batters over his last five High-A starts while allowing just two runs in 26 innings. His fastball now sits 92-94 mph after mechanical adjustments improved his extension by five to six inches. FanGraphs evaluator Eric Longenhagen upgraded his future value to 40+ after previously ranking him 24th in the Tigers system. Jacobs has also added roughly 10 pounds of muscle since being drafted.
