Giants starter Trevor McDonald has been diagnosed with a moderate UCL sprain in his pitching elbow, per manager Tony Vitello. McDonald was placed on the 15-day IL earlier this week and will seek a second opinion this weekend to establish a treatment plan. Vitello indicated McDonald is unlikely to return this season. If surgery is required, McDonald could also miss most or all of the 2027 season.
