Ty France's Minor League Deal With Padres Paying Off in 2026 Postseason
France, signed for a modest sum after going undrafted on the free agent market, has delivered a career-best 141 wRC+ and 21 homers over 500 PA.
Ty France signed with San Diego on a minor league contract heading into the 2026 season after failing to land a guaranteed deal. The 32-year-old first baseman responded with career-best marks across batting average, slugging, home runs, and wRC+. France is now contributing in the NLDS against Milwaukee, where a potential game-tying homer in Game 1 was negated by a ball deflecting off a roof cable. His resurgence represents a return to his original organization and hometown.
