The Yankees optioned Anthony Volpe to Triple-A Scranton after promoting George Lombard Jr. at the Trade Deadline. Over roughly one month in the minors, Volpe hit .284/.381/.642 with 10 home runs and a 159 wRC+. He was recalled and made his return as a second baseman, going 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBI against the Rockies. He also worked at second base and third base in the minors to expand his versatility.
