White Sox DFA Tyler Gilbert to Make Room for Tommy Pham
Chicago cleared a 40-man spot by designating lefty Tyler Gilbert, who struggled with a shoulder injury and poor results in 2026.

The White Sox designated left-hander Tyler Gilbert for assignment as part of their September roster expansion moves. Gilbert, 32, dealt with a shoulder impingement that cost him nearly two months and allowed eight earned runs in just six big league innings this season. He is in his final option year and will be placed on waivers, after which he may elect free agency if unclaimed. The move was made to accommodate newly acquired outfielder Tommy Pham, who was added to the active roster.
