The Yankees are promoting top prospect George Lombard Jr. to the major league roster, per YES Network's Jack Curry. To clear 26-man roster space, New York optioned Anthony Volpe, Jasson Dominguez, and Angel Chivilli to Triple-A. Lombard, selected 26th overall in 2023, hit .268/.405/.440 with 6 homers and 10 steals in 262 Triple-A plate appearances this season. His debut was delayed roughly a month by a finger sprain suffered in mid-June.
