The Yankees are planning to select the contract of reliever Justin Topa, who is currently not on the 40-man roster. To open a roster spot, New York is expected to transfer Giancarlo Stanton to the 60-day IL. Topa, 35, was released by the Twins earlier this season after struggling, but has posted a 1.75 ERA in 25.2 Triple-A innings since. The team is off today, so the official move may not be announced until tomorrow.
