deGrom Skips Sunday Start With Glute Strain, IL Possible
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker confirmed deGrom won't pitch Sunday after leaving his last outing early with a left glute strain.
Jacob deGrom was pulled after five innings Tuesday against the Angels with what was initially called a hip injury, later identified as a mild left glute strain. Manager Skip Schumaker confirmed deGrom will not make his scheduled Sunday start. The Rangers have not yet decided whether an IL stint is necessary. Schumaker noted the team will monitor how deGrom responds over the next few days of rehab before making a determination.
