Rangers Cut Jonah Bride Loose Despite Strong Triple-A Numbers
Texas releases the 30-year-old infielder after a productive stint at Round Rock, possibly due to an opt-out or outside offer.
The Rangers have released infielder Jonah Bride, who signed a minor league deal with the club last November. Bride posted a .271/.389/.418 line with an 18.2% strikeout rate and 16% walk rate across 80 games at Triple-A Round Rock, production 12% above PCL average. The move is notable given Texas has Corey Seager, Cody Freeman, and Michael Helman all currently on the injured list. The release may stem from an opt-out clause or an offer from another organization.
