Cubs Quietly Re-Sign Drew Pomeranz to Minor League Deal
The 37-year-old lefty, released or departed from the Angels mid-season, has rejoined the Cubs organization and is pitching at Triple-A Iowa.
The Cubs signed Drew Pomeranz to a minor league deal late last week without a formal announcement. Pomeranz already made his Triple-A Iowa debut, throwing a scoreless inning with a walk and two strikeouts. He had a strong 2025 comeback with the Cubs — 49.2 IP, 2.17 ERA — before signing a one-year, $4MM deal with the Angels this offseason. He struggled to replicate that form in Anaheim, leading to his return to the Cubs organization.
