A's Cast Wide Net in GM Search, Interview Red Sox Executives
Oakland has spoken with at least four candidates for their open GM role, with more interviews expected as the process advances to in-person meetings.

The Athletics are conducting a broad GM search following David Forst's departure in early August, with Dan Feinstein serving as interim GM. Known candidates include Red Sox AGMs Mike Groopman and Taylor Smith, former Nationals president Mike Rizzo, and A's internal candidate Billy Owens. Former Astros GM James Click is also considered a serious candidate. The process is currently in a video-call first stage, with in-person interviews to follow as the field narrows.
