Clarke Schmidt is expected to be activated from the 60-day injured list before Wednesday's series finale against the Twins, per manager Aaron Boone. It will be Schmidt's first MLB appearance since undergoing Tommy John surgery in June 2025. He made five rehab outings in the minors, averaging 94.1 mph on his fastball — consistent with pre-injury velocity. Schmidt has roughly a week and a half to pitch his way into the Yankees' postseason bullpen.
