Danny Young Outrighted to Triple-A After Clearing Waivers
The Braves sent lefty Danny Young to Gwinnett after his DFA cleared waivers. He has the right to elect free agency but would forfeit remaining salary.

Atlanta designated Danny Young for assignment last week and he has now cleared waivers, resulting in an outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett. Because Young has a prior outright on his record, he can reject the assignment and become a free agent, though doing so would mean forfeiting the remainder of his $400K minor league salary. Young posted an 8.03 ERA in 16 appearances this season after returning from Tommy John surgery on July 3, walking 20% of batters faced. If he reports to Gwinnett, he remains Atlanta property and could be recalled later, but would reach free agency at season's end if not added back to the 40-man roster.
