Giants Call Up LHP Seth Lonsway for MLB Debut
San Francisco selected Lonsway's contract ahead of a doubleheader with the Diamondbacks, filling an open 40-man roster spot.
The Giants officially selected the contract of left-hander Seth Lonsway from Triple-A Sacramento prior to their doubleheader against the Diamondbacks. Lonsway, 27, was a 2021 sixth-round pick out of Ohio State and will make his MLB debut whenever he appears. He is a groundball specialist with a 57.7% groundball rate this season, relying on a 90.4 mph sinker as his primary pitch. The Giants also optioned RHP Spencer Bivens to Sacramento as part of the same roster shuffle.
