Hunter Greene Has Tommy John Surgery, Out Through 2027
The Reds ace underwent a full Tommy John revision, his second TJS overall, ending his season and likely costing him all of 2027.

Hunter Greene had Tommy John surgery on Thursday, his second such procedure after an initial TJS in 2019. This follows an earlier 2026 arthroscopic elbow surgery that already delayed his season debut until July 4. A full revision rather than the quicker internal brace procedure means a lengthy recovery that will almost certainly wipe out the 2027 season as well. The loss is a significant blow to the Cincinnati Reds, who were counting on Greene as the top of their rotation.
