The Orioles claimed Luis Robert Jr. off waivers, winning out over the Padres due to a higher waiver priority from a worse record. Baltimore takes on roughly $3MM remaining on his $20MM salary plus a $2MM buyout on a 2027 club option. Robert is immediately in the lineup, batting fourth and playing left field against the Rockies. He hit six home runs in August with an .841 OPS, suggesting he arrives in good form.
