The Mariners officially outrighted left-hander Jhonathan Díaz to Triple-A Tacoma after he went unclaimed on waivers following a DFA. Because Díaz has been outrighted before, he holds the right to reject the assignment and pursue free agency. The 29-year-old made just one appearance this season, allowing a solo homer in 1 1/3 innings. Given Seattle's deep pitching staff, a return to the 40-man roster appears unlikely.
