The Rays officially placed left-hander Shane McClanahan on the 15-day IL with left forearm tightness. McClanahan told a beat reporter he believes the issue is not serious, though the team has offered few details. The injury is significant given his history: forearm tightness in 2023 led to Tommy John surgery, and a subsequent nerve issue required another procedure, costing him all of 2024 and 2025. In 2026 he had posted a 3.36 ERA over 24 starts before this setback.
