Ohtani Lands on 15-Day IL as Dodgers Manage Injuries
Los Angeles placed Shohei Ohtani on the injured list, backdated to Sept. 8, ending his pitching for the season.

Shohei Ohtani was placed on the 15-day IL backdated to September 8 due to left knee, right biceps, and neck issues. He had been largely ineffective over the prior two weeks, going 2-for-26 with no extra-base hits in seven games. His pitching has been shut down since July 3, and the injuries have apparently ended his mound appearances for the season. The Dodgers also called up top prospect Josue De Paula to help offset the roster strain.
