Tanner Rainey Outrighted to Triple-A After Tigers DFA
Detroit outrighted Rainey to Toledo following a DFA earlier this week; he accepted the assignment and will remain in the organization.

The Tigers designated Tanner Rainey for assignment Monday and have now outrighted him to Triple-A Toledo, where he accepted the minor league assignment. Rainey appeared in six games after being called up three weeks ago, posting a 3.86 ERA over seven innings but walking eight batters and hitting one more. His control issues — over 14% walk rate at Triple-A — led every MLB team to pass on claiming him. Rainey will finish the season in Toledo and is expected to become a free agent this winter.
