Toronto must decide by Saturday whether to promote him to the major league roster or release him. Bowman posted a 10.38 ERA at Triple-A Buffalo, though underlying metrics including a 23.7% strikeout rate, 7.9% walk rate, and 53.8% ground ball rate were more encouraging. The Blue Jays are currently operating with a four-man rotation, which may complicate finding roster space.
