Rangers Release Jarred Kelenic, Outfielder Hits Free Agency Again
Texas cut Kelenic after just 10 plate appearances and seven games, his second release of the 2025 season following a DFA by the White Sox in May.
The Rangers have released outfielder Jarred Kelenic, per beat reporter Jeff Wilson of DLLS Sports. Kelenic posted a .425 OPS in 10 plate appearances across seven games with Texas after being selected to the 26-man roster in mid-June. He had previously been designated for assignment by the White Sox in late May after 59 PA and a .626 OPS, choosing free agency at that time as well. Kelenic now returns to the open market with a combined .213/.304/.295 slash line over 69 PA between Chicago and Texas this season.
