Dylan Cease has been diagnosed with shoulder inflammation following his worst start of the season, in which he walked six batters and lasted only 2 2/3 innings with his fastball sitting more than three mph below his season average. He will not pitch during Toronto's series at Camden Yards this week. The Blue Jays have not yet placed him on the injured list but his 2026 season appears effectively over. Cease stated there are no structural concerns that would affect his availability for 2027.
