Stanton's Season Likely Over After Second Calf Injury
The Yankees slugger has played just 24 games in 2025 and now faces a left calf strain that could end his year entirely.

Giancarlo Stanton strained his left calf while running the bases, his second calf injury of the season after previously straining his right calf in late April and reinjuring it during rehab in mid-June. Manager Aaron Boone acknowledged the late-season timing makes a return extremely difficult without offering a specific timetable. Stanton has appeared in only 24 games this season, hitting .256/.302/.422 with three home runs in 96 plate appearances. At 36 years old, the repeated injuries have significantly clouded both his 2025 outlook and his long-term Hall of Fame candidacy.
