Tigers Release RHP Nick Sandlin from Triple-A Toledo
Detroit has parted ways with reliever Nick Sandlin at the minor league level after a mixed stint, possibly via an opt-out provision.

The Tigers released right-handed reliever Nick Sandlin from their Triple-A Toledo affiliate, per MiLB transaction records. Sandlin had signed a minor league deal with Detroit after a rough stint with the Angels earlier this season. Over his final 20-plus innings in Toledo he posted a 2.21 ERA with a 29.6% strikeout rate, though his walk rate remained elevated at 14.8% and his fastball velocity stayed near 91.5 mph. An opt-out clause may have been exercised given his recent improved performance.
