Vargas Thriving in ALDS After Nearly Quitting Baseball
The White Sox third baseman nearly walked away after 2024 but has become a key offensive force, now posting elite on-base numbers in the playoffs.
Miguel Vargas broke out in 2026 with 33 home runs, 106 RBI, and a 134 wRC+ across the regular season. He nearly retired after a brutal 2024 split between the Dodgers and White Sox. In the current ALDS, Vargas has a .464 OBP through six games, driven largely by nine walks, and hit his first postseason home run in Game 4.
