The Braves optioned Jim Jarvis to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday. Jarvis struggled in August with only three hits and three walks in 42 plate appearances, dropping his season line to .207/.267/.297. He also committed seven errors in just over 300 innings at shortstop. The move effectively installs Mauricio Dubón as Atlanta's everyday shortstop.
