Danny Young Clears Waivers, Outrighted to Triple-A by Braves
The left-hander cleared waivers after being DFA'd and has been sent to Gwinnett, though he holds the right to elect free agency instead.

Atlanta designated Danny Young for assignment last week and he has now cleared waivers, resulting in an outright assignment to Triple-A Gwinnett. Because Young has a prior outright on his record, he can reject the assignment and become a free agent, though doing so would forfeit remaining salary on his $400K minor league deal. Young posted an 8.03 ERA in 16 appearances after returning from Tommy John surgery on July 3, walking 20% of batters faced. He remains a fringe roster option and would likely draw only minor league interest if he opts for free agency.
